Norfolk Virginian June 4, 1895
The funeral of Mrs. Anne E. Burrow, mother of Mr. J. W. Burrow, of this city, 
who died at her residence, on York street extended, at 5 o’clock Sunday morning, 
after a brief illness, took place from the residence yesterday afternoon at 6 
o’clock. Mrs. Burrow had a fall about two months ago, from which she never 
recovered. Mrs. Burrow was 80 years of age and for a long time had been a member 
of the First Presbyterian Church.
Dr. W. S. Lacy, assisted by Dr. Armstrong, conducted the services. The following 
were the pallbearers: Col. G. Tait, Virginius Denby, Geo. W. Dey, R. W. Santos, 
John Keeling, Patrick O’Connor, H. A. Tarrau, J. D. Gheislin. The interment was 
in Elmwood Cemetery.
