Burton, died yesterday morning at 9:30 o'clock in the residence, 306 Queen Street, after a long illness. Mrs. Burton had been a lifelong resident of Portsmouth and possessed many friends. She is survived by four sons, W.S. Burton, of Roanoke; O.M. Burton, of Raleigh; C.M. Burton, of Bethel, N.C.; C.D. Burton, Savannah, Ga. and a daughter, Miss Mary B. Burton, of Portsmouth and ten grandchildren. Mrs. Burton also leaves a sister, Mrs. J.T. Gibbs, of Norfolk and two brothers, William T. Manning, of Roanoke and Cleveland Manning, of Norfolk. Mrs. Burton held membership in St. John's Episcopal Church, where funeral service will be conducted this afternoon at 4 o'clock. Burial will take place in Magnolia Cemetery, Berkley. ************************************************************* Mrs. Mary Manning Burton, widow of William R. Funeral service was conducted at 4 o'clock in St. John's Episcopal Church, the Rev. William A. Brown, D.D., rector, officiating. There was a large attendance.
