Mrs. Butcher, who was in her eightieth year, was the daughter of Benjamin Terry Bockover and Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Hathaway Bockover and had resided in Norfolk all her life. She was prominently identified with several musical organizations of the city and also was a member of long standing in the Ministering Circle of the King's Daughters. She was a member of Epworth Methodist Church and one of the founders of McKendree Methodist Church. She was a member of the former Melody Club and of the old Norfolk College alumnae. Surviving Mrs. Butcher are two sons, John Henry Butcher, of Norfolk and William Read Butcher, Jr., at whose home she died; a granddaughter, Miss Carolyn Murry Butcher and four nephews and five nieces. The body was brought to the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home last night and will be taken from there to Epworth Methodist Church for funeral services tomorrow at 12 o'clock, noon. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
