And Rosa E. Butler, aged 18 years. The funeral will take place from the residence this (Sunday) afternoon at 3 o’clock. Friends and Acquaintances respectfully invited to attend. ******** Virginian-Pilot, October 03, 1899 The obsequies of Miss Rena Lee Butler, who passed away at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James D. Butler, No. 3 Cumberland Street, Friday afternoon, were held from the residence at 3 p.m. Sunday and were largely attended. The services were conducted by Rec. Dr. C.E. Grammer, of Christ Episcopal Church, assisted by Rev. A.S. Lloyd, D.D., of St. Luke’s P.E. Church. There was a profusion of beautiful floral tributes. The remains were laid to rest in Elmwood Cemetery. Following were the pall-bearers: Messrs. R.D. Halstead, Charles V. Fisher, Paul L. Rose, Julian W. Davenport, Walter Dickson, Wm. R. Miller, Ernest S. Stevens and R.L. Morris.
