Norfolk - Willie Butler Sr., 91, of 832 Lindenwood Ave., a native of Spartanburg
SC, and the widower of Blanche Butler, died Sunday in a hospital.

Mr. Butler had retired from a job at Wright Coal and Wood Co. after 60 years. He
was a member of St. John AME Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Ivy Cain of New York and Allyce Archie of
Norfolk; two sons, John Butler of Connecticut and Leon Butler of Chesapeake; 12
grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at noon Thursday in St. John AME Church by the
Rev. W. C. Davis. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

A wake service will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home.
