Virginian Pilot October 7, 1905   

Mrs. Johanna Butt, wife of W.J. Butt, died at the home of her son-on-law, C. 
Goffigan, Twenty-ninth Street, Park Place, at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon 
after an illness of over two months, aged 51 years. The deceased was the 
daughter of the late Capt. John Eley, of Nansemond County, but has resided in 
Norfolk during all of her married life, where she was well known and highly 
esteemed. The funeral will take place from the residence of her son-in-law 
Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock.

BUTT - At the residence of her son-in-law, Mr. C. Goffigan, 29th Street, Park 
Place, Friday, October  the 6th, 1905, at 3 p.m., JOHANNA, beloved wife of 
William J. Butt, aged 58 years.
The funeral will take place SUNDAY, October the 8th, 1905 at 3 p.m., from the 
residence. Friends of the family respectfully invited to attend.
