Anthony Butt, 79, of 3401 Willard Place, died Sunday in a hospital. A native of Portsmouth, he was retired from Civil Service. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. He was associated with Boy Scout units in Tidewater for more than 36 years. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Marie Theresa Kingsburg, Mrs. Mary Claire Pinard, Mrs. Betty Jean Williams and Mrs. Carolyn Pearson, all of Norfolk; a son, James A. Butt of Virginia Beach; 26 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk, has charge.
