Norfolk Ledger-Dispatch January 18, 1922
George W. Butt, a well-known citizen, and native of Norfolk, died early this 
morning, at his residence, 315 Olney Road, in his 80th year. He is survived by his 
wife, Mrs. Laurina J. Butt, and a daughter, Mrs. J. W. Travers. The funeral will 
take place Thursday at 3 p.m. at the residence, Rev. E. L. Bain, D.D., and Rev. I. 
D. S. Knight, D.D., officiating. Burial in Elmwood. He was a member of Cumberland 
Street Methodist church, and of Charity Lodge No. 10, Knights of Pythias.
