Virginian-Pilot March 5, 1901
The venerable Mrs. Sarah Jay Butt, relict of the late Mr. Henry Butt, passed away 
at her residence, No. 313 Chapel street, at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, at the ripe old age 
of 75 years. The funeral will be solemnized from the Freemason Street Baptist 
church at 3 o’clock this afternoon.
