Norfolk Virginian October 23, 1883
BUTT – Monday, October 22, at 7:30 p.m., LILLIE DALE, infant daughter of John A. 
and Bettie F. Butt, aged 1 month and 18 days.
Her funeral will take place from the residence of her parents, No. 21 Virginia 
street, this (Tuesday) afternoon, at 4 o’clock. Friends and acquaintances are 
invited to attend.
    Standing by the river,
    We closed the weary eyes.
    In Jesus’ arms we lay her down;
    A lovely jewel for His crown.
