Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - January 28, 2001

Albert Tapley Butt, 77, of the 1800 block of Elbow Road, died Jan. 26, 2001. 
Mr. Butt was a native of Norfolk County. He was a retired general foreman at 
Marshall Steel Company and a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Chesapeake. He was 
an Army veteran of World War II and served in the European Theatre. He was the 
son of the late Kenneth P. Butt Sr. and Eva Temple Butt. 
He is survived by his brother, Kenneth P. Butt Jr. of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; 
two sisters-in-law, Vinnie Mae Butt and Louise Garner Butt, both of Chesapeake; 
a niece, Margaret Butt Richard of Chesapeake; and a nephew, Kenneth P. Butt, 
III, of Virginia Beach. 
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Riverside Memorial Park by 
the Rev. H.F. Roberson. The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home, 
Greenbrier Chapel, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. today and at 1224 Fairway Drive, 
Chesapeake, at all other times. Memorial contributions may be made to W. Stanley 
Jennings Ambulatory Care Center of Chesapeake General Hospital, 736 Battlefield 
Blvd. North, Chesapeake, VA 23320.
