Willoughby Joseph Butt Sr., 78, son of the late Willoughby and Mrs. Sarah Portlock 
Butt, a lifelong resident of Norfolk, died at his residence, 737 Windsor Avenue, 
Saturday at 10:45 p.m. Surviving him are two sons, Ernest V. Butt, of Norfolk, and 
Willoughby J. Butt, Jr., of Gastonia, N.C.; eight grandchildren and two great-
grandchildren. The body will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to 
St. Mary's Catholic Church, of which Mr. Butt was a member, for services Tuesday 
at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary services will be held 
at the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments today at 7:30 p.m.
