The Norfolk Virginian Pilot February 8, 1943 


 

N. Coleman Butt, aged 55, died yesterday at 11:20 o’clock at a local hospital 
after a short illness. He was the son of the late Frederick and Mr.s Fannie 
Portlock Butt. A native of Norfolk County, he had resided in South Norfolk for 
35 years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bernice Williamson Butt, and two 
daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Leault and Miss Fannie Virginia Butt, of South 
Norfolk, one brother, K.P. Butt of Elbow, and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Shaw of 
Portlock, and seven nephews. Mr. Butt was a member of Chesapeake Avenue 
Methodist Church. The body was removed to the J.R. Williams Funeral Home, 1027 
Chesapeake Avenue, South Norfolk, pending funeral arrangements. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 o’clock Tuesday afternoon at the 
Chesapeake Avenue Methodist Church.
