The Norfolk Virginian Pilot March 19, 1938


Joseph Nicholas Butt, aged 72, husband of Laura Gregory Butt, died at his 
residence, 208 Morwin Avenue, Ocean View, yesterday afternoon at 2:35 o’clock. 
Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Charles Wakefield 
Pace, Mrs. E. Lee Ramsey and Mrs. George McLin Gornto; a son, Robert B. Morgan 
and three grandchildren, all of Norfolk. Mr. Butt was a native and lifelong 
resident of Norfolk. 
Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home tomorrow 
afternoon at 3 o’clock. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
