Norfolk Journal and Guide, Sep 7, 1957
Funeral services for Charlie Butts, 65, of 912 Tyler street, were held Sept 1 
in Hale’s Funeral Chapel.  The Rev. Z. P. Jenkins, pastor the Union Christian 
Church officiated.

Mr. Butts died at his residence Aug. 28 at 5 p.m.  He was a member of 
Longshoreman Local 1248.  Surviving is his wife, Mrs. Rebecca O. Butts.  
Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with Hale Funeral Home in charge.
