Butts, 66, of the 2800 block of Candlewood Circle, died Dec. 5, 2000, at his home. Born in Norfolk, Mr. Butts was a retired service attendant of Checkered Flag dealership. Brother Butts was a deacon of Hebron Cornerstone Worship Center in Virginia Beach where the Karol L. Warren is the pastor/evangelist. He is survived by his wife, Mildred L. Wells Butts; a host of stepchildren; two sisters, Margaret Williams and Helen Lewis, both of Chesapeake; a brother, Arthur Butts of Norfolk; a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and a brother-in-law, Joseph Lewis. He was predeceased by his parents, Hattie Butts and Latiword Butts. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Cathedral of Faith COGIC, 2020 Portlock Road, Chesapeake, by Karol L. Warren. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Hale Funeral Home is in charge.
