Norfolk - Funeral rites were recently held in St. Marks RZUA Church for Colonius 
Benjamin Butts Sr. of 800 E. 27th street.  The Rev. James O. Allen delivered the 
eulogy.

A native of Norfolk, he was the husband of Mrs. Nellie R. Butts and a son of the 
late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Butts.

He was a member of the trustee board and treasurer of St. Marks RZUA Church.  He 
was also active in the Sunday School.

Besides his widow, he is survived by three sons, Phillip L. Butts and Emmett E. 
Butts of Norfolk, and Colonius B. Butts Jr of the Air Force;  two daughters, 
Miss Evelyn Butts and Mrs. Maxine Askew of Norfolk;  two sisters, Mrs. Beatrice 
Russell of Stamford, CT and Mrs. Ruth Holmes of Newport News;  and 15 
grandchildren.

Interment was in Calvary Cemetery with Graves Funeral Home in charge.
