Bynum of 1020 Billings St., the husband of Mrs. Lucille W. Bynum and a native of Southampton County, died Saturday, Dec. 24, in his home. He was a retired, 32-year employee of Norfolk Naval Shipyard and an Army veteran of World War I. He was a member of New St. Mark Baptist Church. Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Annie Johnson and Miss Emma J. Bynum of Norfolk; a son, Nathaniel J. Bynum Jr. of Washington; and five grandchildren. A funeral was held Friday, Dec. 30 in New St. Mark Baptist Church by the Rev. C. W. Tyson. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with military rites at the grave. Metropolitan Funeral Home had charge.
