Virginian Pilot Tuesday May 14, 1985


Grady Schofield Byrd, 67, of 5610 I Monroe Place, a native of South Carolina 
died Sunday in a hospital.
Mr. Byrd was a meat cutter at Bazemore’s Friendly Market.
Survivors include his wife, June Byrd; three daughter, Sue Peck and Debbie 
Byrd, both of North Carolina, and Helen Devore of Norfolk; a son, James McLamb 
of Norfolk; three sisters, Veralee Snipes and Gladys Compton, both of South 
Carolina, and Edna Jackson of Newport News; three brothers, Henry Byrd, Gilbert 
Byrd and Gary Byrd, all of South Carolina; and six grandchildren.
The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Forest Lawn 
Cemetery.
The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, from 
4 to 6 p.m. today.
