He was born on May 13, 1993, in Portsmouth, Virginia. He graduated from Kempsville High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia and attended Ferrum College on a golf scholarship. He loved his family, his friends, and the Lord. Daniel was an excellent golfer and was a star on his high school golf team. Daniel was a diehard fan of the Redskins and enjoyed watching the games with his family and friends. He was an animal lover and enjoyed spending time with family and friends' dogs, and missed his dog, Achilles. Daniel was a loyal friend to many, always smiling, telling jokes, befriending all who he met and had a heart of gold. His other great love was music and playing his guitar. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand, an ear, or a shoulder to cry on. He will be missed by so many who loved him. Daniel is survived by his loving parents, David and Christin Byrd, and his sister Nicole Katherine Byrd, his mother Dawn Robinson, his Grandfather Vernon "Joe" Flora, Grandparents Ronald and Evelyn Cooper. His family includes his Uncles, Daniel Byrd, John "Tommy" Byrd, Mike Byrd, Anthony "Tony" Cooper (Robyn) and Aunts, Linda Hussey (Burt), Chrissy Byrd Whitford, and Sheri Foster (Buzz). He will be missed by his cousins, Brandy Johnson, Billy Hussey, Anthony and Noah Whitford, Madalyn and Ross Foster, and Joel Cooper. He was predeceased in death by his wonderful Grandmother, Catherine Byrd Flora, and his Great-Grandparents Delores and John "J.T" Thomas Byrd. The family will hold a private service and burial at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations in Daniel's name to his favorite charities, PETA and First Tee - Hampton Roads.
