FRANCES REGINA BYRNE, 84, widow of James J. Byrne and daughter of the late Peter F. and Mrs. Catherine Carroll Murphy, a native of Baltimore and a resident of Norfolk for the past 35 years, died at the residence, 820 Maury place, yesterday afternoon at 5 o'clock. Mrs. Byrne, was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Sodality of the Blessed Virgin. Surviving her are three daughters, Mrs. W. J. O'Brien, Mrs. C. R. Wheat and Miss Catherine M. Byrne, all of Norfolk; a son, the Rev. Francis J. Byrne, S.T.D., of Richmond; 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; a sister, Miss Mary Murphy, of Baltimore, and a niece, Mrs. John D. Drew, of Norfolk. The body will be taken from the residence to Sacred Heart Catholic Church for funeral services Thursday morning at 10 o'clock. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary services will be held at the residence Wednesday night at 8 o'clock. Mrs. Frances Regina Byrne — Funeral services for Mrs. Bvrne, widow of James J. Byrne, who died afternoon at the residence, 820 Maury Place, were held at 10 o'clock yesterday morning at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Rev. Frank Byrne, celebrant of the mass; the Rev. A. J. Taylor, deacon, the Rev. Francis Klemmer, sub-deacon, and the Rev. F. L. Bradican, master of ceremonies. Present in the sanctuary were the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Leo J. Ryan, the Rev P. P. Brennan, the Rev. E. L. Stephens, the Rev. F. O'Connell, the Rev. E. P. Kilgalen, the Rev. P. C. Blackburn, the Rev. Robert B. Kealey, the Rev. Nicholas Habets, the Rev. M. J. Harrison, the Rev. B. J. McKenna, the Rev. B. J. Moore, the Rev. A. Canas, the Rev. Harold Nott, the Rev. Peter Schouten, the Rev. John Riordan, the Rev. Francis Bradican, the Rev J. Kiernan, the Rev. F. V. Bambrick and the Rev. J. Brennan. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery. The pallbearers were John T. Riley, J. A. Kennedy, George M. Bishop, J. E. Williamson, P. B. Screeney J. T. Hanson and Michael J. O’Brien.
