Mrs. Bridget M. Byrnes died at her home, Iona apartments, 231 Westover avenue, 
yesterday morning, having been ill since Easter. She was a native of Ireland, but 
had been a resident of Norfolk twenty-one years, where she was loved and esteemed 
for her many lovely traits of character. Her passing will be learned with sorrow 
by a host of friends. She was the widow of Thomas Byrnes. She is survived by three 
daughters, Mrs. Frank L. Barry, Mrs. E. A. Tall and Miss Julia E. Byrnes, all of 
Norfolk; also two sisters, Mrs. Robert L. Coleman of Richmond and Mrs. J. J. Carty 
of Norfolk. The funeral will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic church Friday at 10 
a.m. and will be conducted by Rev. Father Waters. Interment, St. Mary's cemetery.
