Virginian-Pilot  July 28, 1918
Peter Byrnes, a well-known citizen of Norfolk, died in Baltimore on Friday 
evening, in which city he had resided for several years. Mr. Byrnes was in his 
80th year. He was a native of Ireland, and is survived by his wife, two nephews, 
Maurice Nooman, of Norfolk, and John Nooman, of Ireland, and a niece, Miss 
Johannah Nooman, of Ireland. The remains arrived in Norfolk yesterday. They will 
be carried from the residence on West York street to the Sacred Heart Catholic 
church, where the funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock this morning. Rev. 
T. E. Waters, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in Saint Mary’s.
