Norfolk - Mrs. Mittie Byrum of 1621 Claiborne Avenue died in a hospital.

A native of Southampton county, she was a daughter of Billie and Mrs. Betty
Artis and the widow of Norfleet Byrum.

She was a member of Missionary Baptist Church, Boykins.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Fenetta Wallace of Norfolk;  a grandchild,;
 five great-grandchildren;  and two great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held st St. Paul CME Church by the Rev. Lawrence Craig. 
Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
