The Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark   March 28, 1913
Josephus Byrum, aged 66 years, died at his home in Perry street, South Norfolk, 
yesterday evening at 8:35 o'clock, after an illness of some time. He was a 
native of North Carolina, but had lived in the State several years.
He is survived by a widow, Mrs. Elizabeth M. Byrum, and eight children. They 
are Mrs. Texanna Chappel, Miss Josephine Byrum, J. L. Byrum, Mrs. Julia 
Ferrell, Mrs. Chaddie Keton, William, John and Jacob Byrum.
The funeral will take place at the residence Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock 
and burial will be in Magnolia cemetery. Rev. W. F. Gammond, pastor of the 
Pentecostal Holiness church, will conduct the services.
