Mrs. Elsie Cabarras, of 1302 Cass street, died Sunday, Dec. 13, after a long 
illness.  Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 16, at St. Thomas AME 
Church, the Rev. M. L. Beamon officiating.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, with 
Pretlow’s Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Cabarras, a native of Elizabeth City, NC, had lived in New York City 10 
years and in Norfolk about 50 years.  She was a member of Mother Zion AME Church 
in New York.

Surviving are two sons, Willie and Thomas Cabarras of Brooklyn;  and four 
daughters, Mrs. Eleanor Bowman of New York, and Mesdames Mary Harrison, Margaret 
Roberts and Dorothy Beamon of Norfolk.
