Norfolk - A funeral service for William F. Cabarras Jr., 67, of 1302 Cass street
was conducted Sunday Oct. 3, in St. Thomas AME Zion Church, Campostella, by the
Rev. G. L. Newby. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, with Pretlow Funeral Home
in charge.

A native of Elizabeth City, NC, Mr. Cabarras, the husband of Mrs. Maude R.
Cabarras and a son of William F. and Mrs. Elsie Winslow Cabarras, died Sept. 29
in a Brooklyn hospital. He was a retired employee of St. George Hotel, Brooklyn,
and a member of First AME Zion Church, Brooklyn. He lived in Norfolk 17 years.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, William F. Cabarras III of New York;
four sisters, Mrs. Mary Harrison, Mrs. Dorothy Beamon and Mrs. Margaret Roberts
of Norfolk, and Mrs. Eleanor Bowman of New York; four grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren.
