John Walter Cain, 77, of 973 Merrimac avenue, died May 4 at his home 
following a long illness. Funeral services were held May 7 at Morning Glory 
Funeral Chapel with the Rev. C. E. Griffin officiating. A native of Stafford 
County, VA, Mr. Cain lived in Norfolk nearly 60 years.

Prior to his illness, Mr. Cain was a member of St. John AME Church and the 
Cement Finishers Aid Organization.

He is survived by several cousins, including Mrs. Virginia Branson, Mrs. 
Viola Boyd, Mrs. Ethel Davis, and Mrs. Resper of Norfolk. Interment was in 
Calvary Cemetery with Morning Glory Funeral Directors in charge.
