Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Sunday, November 7, 1993 
Mrs. Doris R. Caine, of the 1100 block of Rugby St., a retired Domestic, died
November 4, 1993 at Sentara Nursing Center.

Mrs. Caine was born in Hertford County, North Carolina. She was a graduate of
Winton High School. She joined Second Baptist Church of Union at an early age.
In moving to Norfolk, she joined New Calvary Baptist Church, in later years, she
became a founding member of Gideon's Missionary Baptist Fellowship, where she
served as Secretary of the Deaconess Board. A former member of Barraud Park
Neighborhood Club, and the Past Matron of Wheaton Chapter (NU)73 OES PHA
Affiliated.

Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Ashley Caine, 2 step-daughters Margaret
D. Taylor of Paterson, New Jersey and Elaine B. Howard of Norfolk, Virginia; 5
step-grandchildren Florine A. and Jacqueline D. Caine, Glenda B. and Warren G.
Howard, Jr., all of Norfolk, and Ashley C. Barlow of Florida. 4 sisters, Helen
Riddick and Bernice Eason, of Ahoskie, North Carolina, Celestine Pruitt, Gracie
Cofield, and 1 brother, George Riddick, all of New York, nieces, nephews, and a
host of relatives and friends.

The funeral will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Gideon Riverside
Fellowship Church by Dr. Milton A. Reid. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery .
Graves Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Friends may join the family at the
residence.
