The Virginian-Pilot, Monday, July 21, 1969

NORFOLK - Mrs. Carrie Caine of 1114 Rugby St. died Sunday in a Virginia Beach 
nursing home.

She was a native of Halifax County and a daughter of the late Hyman and Mrs. 
Della Little. She was the widow of the late Samuel Caine.

She was a member of the Ladies League of New Calvary Baptist Church, of Waldorf 
Lodge and American War Mothers.

She is survived by five sons, Lester Caine Jr., Sam H. Caine, McKinley Caine, 
Ashley Caine, and James T. Caine, all of Norfolk; four daughters, Mrs. Helen S. 
Simmons, Mrs. Lillian Daniels, Mrs. Elgia M. Jones and Miss Edna Caine, all of 
Norfolk; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren and three great-great-
grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The body was taken to Graves Funeral Home.

Additional Comments:
NORFOLK - A funeral service for Mrs. Carrie Caine, who died Sunday, will be held 
at 1 p.m. Thursday at New Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. M.A. Reid. Burial 
will be in Calvary Cemetery.
