Patrick David Caldwell, 62, of 1258 Shawboro Road, Shawboro, NC, died Friday, 
September 9, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Norfolk, VA on December 16, 
1953 to the late David J. Caldwell and Olga Nuzzo Caldwell and was the husband of 
Edith Lynn Thompson of the residence. He was a longshoreman and member of the 
International Longshoreman's Association.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a brother, Joseph O. Walker, and his 
wife, Carol, of Chesapeake, VA; a niece, Ashley Basinger, and her husband, Al, of 
Chesapeake, VA; and a grandniece, Savanna. He was pre-deceased by a brother, 
Howard Walker.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at 
Twiford Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the 
service in the funeral home lobby. Twiford Funeral Home, Memorial Chapel, 405 East 
Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC is serving the Caldwell family. You may express
