Norfolk Virginian Pilot February 27, 1945

Mrs. Mary Marie Caleo, aged 66 years, wife of James Jerome Caleo, and daughter 
of the late Vincent R. and Mrs. Marie Lascara, died at 8:40 o'clock yesterday 
morning at a local hospital. Mrs. Caleo was a native of Italy and had been a 
resident of Norfolk for practically her whole life, residing at 1043 Brambleton 
Avenue at the time of her death. Besides her husband, she is survived by six 
daughters, Mrs. James Culpepper, Miss Catherine Caleo, Mrs. Oliver Legacy, Mrs. 
G.D. Owens, Mrs. R.B. Becraft and Mrs. T.V. Vitlo; three sons, Samuel P., 
Vincent A. and Salvator J. Caleo, 18 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, 
two sisters, Mrs. Rose Coppola and Mrs. Cecelia Lascara; five brothers, Joe, 
Dominick, John, Vincent and Frank Lascara and a number of nieces and nephews. 
The body will be taken from the H.D .Oliver Apartments to St. Mary's Catholic 
Church for services tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock. Interment will be in St. 
Mary's Cemetery. Rosary services will be held at the H.D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments tonight at 8 o'clock.

MRS. MARY MARIE CALEO — Funeral services Mrs. Caleo, wife of James Jerome Caleo, 
who died Monday at a Norfolk hospital, were conducted yesterday morning at St. 
Mary's Catholic Church by the Rev. F. V. Bambrick. The Rev. P. C. Blackburn, the 
Rev. M. J. Harrison and the Rev. Francis Bradican were present in the sanctuary. 
Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Pallbearers were R. A. Caprio, E. D. 
DeShields, R. B. Spence, J. W. Frank, W. B. Jones, W. E. Jones, J. E. Council 
and C. W. Kissell.
