Fitzgerald Callahan and the late Denis D. Callahan, died suddenly Thursday. He was a native oF Portland, Maine, and a resident oF Norfolk for the past 17 years, residing at 1451 Ashland Circle at the time of his death. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and was a veteran of World War II, in which he was captain of a tank battalion in the Pacific, serving in the battlefield command at Okinawa from 1941 to 1945. He was awarded the Purple Heart with oak loaf cluster for outstanding service. Besides his mother he is survived by one brother, Denis J. Callahan, and two sisters, Misses Margaret C. and Mary Callahan, all of Norfolk. The body was taken to the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments pending arrangements.
