Virginian Pilot September 27, 1980

Mrs. Katherine Walsh Callahan, 82, formerly of 915 Spotswood Ave., the widow of 
John Thomas Callahan and a native of Norfolk, died Friday in a hospital.
She was office manager and bookkeeper for Tidewater Council, Boy Scouts of 
America, and retired after many years.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. 
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Katherine C. Respess of Charlottesville; two 
sons, John T. Callahan Jr. and William Walsh Callahan of Norfolk; 18 
grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A Christian Wake service will be held Sunday night at 7 in H.D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart 
Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
