NORFOLK - Martin William Callan, 84, son of the late Thomas Leonard and Mrs. 
Catherine Hoban Callan, a native of Baltimore, and a resident of Norfolk for the 
past 10 years, died yesterday at 3 a.m. at a Norfolk hospital.

He is survived by one son, Lawrence Grimes Callan of New York City; one daughter, 
Mrs. Robert I. McCourt of Norfolk; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The body will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Holy Trinity 
Catholic Church, Ocean View, of which Mr. Callan was a member, for funeral 
services tomorrow at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Rosary 
services will be held at the funeral apartments at 7:30 p.m. today.
