She was a native of Pangasinan, Philippines, and was the daughter of the late Anastacio and Maxima Salinda Ombac, and was preceded in death by her oldest grandson, Troy C. Murdock. Mrs. Camacho was a teacher at Wayne State University and later became the office manager of her husband's medical practice and retired in 1999. She received her degree in education from Wayne State University in Michigan. She was a Roman Catholic and a member of local Filipino organizations such as the Philippine Medical Association and Pangasinan Association of which she was an officer of both. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Peligny L. Camacho, MD, of Mechanicsville, VA, her daughters: Cherry Camacho-Whitt (and her husband Erich S. Whitt) of Springfield, VA, Jocelyn (Joy) Camacho Murdock, of Mechanicsville, VA, Mary Camacho Escobar (and her husband Gilbert) of Glen Allen, VA; and her son, Phil O. Camacho (and his wife Regina Tan-Camacho, MD) of Chesapeake, VA. She is also survived by her sister Esper O. Madera of Mechanicsville, VA; and her brothers, Rogel S. Ombac, of the Philippines, and Jesus S. Ombac, of Williamsburg, VA (and his wife Linda D. Ombac, MD). She has six grandchildren: Matthew Ryan C. Murdock, Bradley C. Escobar, Sydney C. Escobar, Ryley C. Escobar, Phoenix O. Camacho, and Delaney C. Escobar. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 14, 2015, at St. Benedict's Parish (Latin Mass), 521 McCosh Drive, Chesapeake, Virginia 23320. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Norfolk. The Reverend Father Anthony Forte will officiate. Rosary prayers will be recited in the Chesapeake Chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. at 5:00 PM, Friday, November 13, followed by a visitation with the family until 7:00 PM.
