A native of New Bern, N.C., he had lived here since 1907. He was a world War II veteran. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Willie Cahoon Candalese of Norfolk and a brother, J.V. Candalese of Philadelphia. A funeral service will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments. Burial with military honors will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
