Virginian Pilot March 18, 1965

Frank Phillip Candalese, 64, of 318 Forest Ave., died Tuesday in his shoe repair 
shop at 4404 Hampton Blvd.
He operated the business 36 years.
A native of New Bern, N.C., he had lived here since 1907. He was a world War II 
veteran.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Willie Cahoon Candalese of Norfolk and a brother, 
J.V. Candalese of Philadelphia.
A funeral service will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in H.D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments. Burial with military honors will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
The Rosary will be recited in the funeral apartments tonight at 7.

CANDALESE, FRANK PHILLIP — Died on Tuesday, March 16th, 1965, at 5:30 p.m., 
FRANK PHILLIP, husband of Mrs. Willie Cahoon Candalese and son of the late 
Giovanni and Mrs. Marla Candalese, in the 65th year of his age. Services at the 
H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, Friday at 11 a.m. Friends of the 
family are invited to attend. Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery.
