PHILADELPHIA - Joseph V. Candalese, 70, of 1541 Curtin St., a former 50 year 
resident of Norfolk, died Saturday in a hospital.
A native of New Bern, N.C., he lived here 11 years. He was the husband of Mrs. 
Anna Florence Disario Candalese and a son of Giovanni and Mrs. Marie Candalese.
He formerly owned and operated the River Terrace Restaurant in Norfolk. He was a 
member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
Besides his widow, surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ann Marie Olivo of Cherry 
Hill, N.J.; and three grandchildren.
The body was sent to H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments in Norfolk. A Requiem Mass 
will be celebrated today at 11 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 
Newport Avenue and Painter Street. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, 
Norfolk.

CANDALESE, JOSEPH V. - In a Philadelphia hospital, Saturday, JOSEPH V. 
CANDALESE, husband of Mrs. Anna Florence DiSario Candalese and son of the late 
Giovanni and Mrs. Marie Candalese, in the 70th year of his age. The body will be 
taken from H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk, to Blessed Sacrament Catholic 
Church, Newport and Painter Street, for a requiem mass to be celebrated 
Wednesday at 11 o'clock. Burial, St. Mary's Cemetery.
