Virginian-Pilot  May 5, 1933
Mrs. Maria Antonio Candalese, aged 74, wife of John Candalese, died at 4 o’clock 
yesterday morning at the residence, 112 West Sixteenth street. She was a native of 
Italy and had been a resident of Norfolk for the past 38 years. Besides her 
husband, she is survived by two sons, Frank Phillip and Joseph Vincent Candalese, 
all of Norfolk.

Funeral services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church tomorrow morning at 
10 o’clock. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mrs. Candalese was a member 
of Guore de Maria Gorizia Lodge No. 619.
