Virginian-Pilot August 23, 1910
The funeral of Dr. Douglas C. Cannon, whose death occurred at his home, 318 Bute 
street, at 12:20 o’clock Sunday morning, was held from his late residence at 4 
o’clock yesterday afternoon and was numerously attended. In the absence of Dr. 
Melton, the service was conducted by Rev. W. A. Borum, D.D., of Jackson, Miss., 
formerly of Norfolk. The interment was in Elmwood cemetery.
Following were the pallbearers: John B. Jenkins, Dr. L. T. Royster, Dr. George T. 
Myers, Dr. J. J. Miller, Captain W. R. Boutwell, George W. Dey, George 
Chamberlaine and H. B. Bagnall.
