Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA)  August 19, 1956

Mrs. Ella Dozier Canoles, 75, wife of Edward T. Canoles and daughter of the 
late Cader R. and Mrs. Ella Mae Williams Dozier, died at a Norfolk hospital 
yesterday at 4:35 p.m.
Besides her husband she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. J.W. Ackiss, 
Mrs. N.C. Cordell and Miss Mary E. Canoles and a son, Leroy T. Canoles, all 
of Norfolk; two sisters, Mrs. C.O. Sawyer, of Kill Devil Hills, N.C. and 
Mrs. Grace Davis of Norfolk; a brother, P.C. Dozier, of Norfolk; nine 
grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Canoles was a life long resident of Norfolk and resided at 249 Ethel 
Ave.  She was an active member of the Christadelphian Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home 
tomorrow at 4 p.m.  Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
