The deceased had been a resident of Norfolk nearly all of his life, and was at one time engaged in active business pursuits, but of late years had retired to private life. He was of unflinching integrity of character. He was a member of Friendship Conclave No. 2, Heptasophs or S.W.M., an organization in which he took the deepest concern. He was a member of the Junior Order United American Mechanics. He leaves a widow and children. His funeral will take place from his late residence on Wood street at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon. *********************************************************** The funeral of the late Mr. Fulton Capps took place from the residence of the deceased, corner of Wood and Reilly streets, at 3:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the presence of a large assemblage of sorrowing friends. Friendship Conclave, No. 2, Heptasophs or Seven Wise Men, and a lodge of Independent Order of United American Mechanics, of which the deceased in life was a member, attended in a body. The service was conducted by Rev. W.H. Atwill, pastor of Cumberland Street Methodist Episcopal Church, assisted by Rev. J.W. Moore, of the Queen Street Methodist Episcopal Church. At the close of the services at the house the remains were borne to Elmwood Cemetery, where, with the last sad rights of the church and those of the orders, they were committed to mother earth to await the resurrection morn.
