Capps of 1709 Hampton Blvd. died Sunday afternoon in Lenoir Memorial Hospital in Kinston, N.C., after a long illness. A native of Nansemond County, she was a daughter of James and Mrs. Sophonia Butler Stephenson and widow of J. Talbot Capps. She lived in Norfolk for 50 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Norfolk for 50 years and for 30 years was a volunteer worker with the Woman's Bible Class of the Y.W.C.A., Red Cross and King's Daughters. She is survived by a son, J. Talbot Capps of Kinston; a stepson, W. Tazewell Capps of Virginia Beach; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Henry R. Weaver of Norfolk; and three grandsons. The body is being sent to Cox Funeral Home.
