Norfolk Virginian Pilot May 30, 1944

Ovanda Bedford Capps. 86, son of the late Dennis and Mrs. Nancy Williams Capps, 
a native of Princess Anne County and a resident of Norfolk for 35 years died at 
the residence, 244 West Twenty-ninth Street, yesterday morning at 6:40 o'clock 
after an extended illness. Mr. Capps was well known having been prominently 
identified with the retail grocery business in the city for 23 years prior to 
his retirement several years ago.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. A.S. Munden, of Princess Anne; Mrs. Rose 
C. Munden and Mrs. R.E. Norman, both of Norfolk; five grandchildren, Mrs. H.R. 
Sawyer, Harold E. Munden, Randolph C. Munden and Robert E. Norman, all of 
Norfolk and Walter B. Munden, of Princess Anne and a great grandchild, Linda Sue 
Munden.
Mr. Capps was a member of the Charity Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Ewell & Williamson Funeral Home 
tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Ovanda Bedford Capps - Funeral services for Mr. Capps, who died Monday, were 
conducted at the Ewell & Williamson Funeral Home yesterday afternoon by Dr. 
Henry W. Tiffany, pastor of the Park Place Baptist Church.
Pallbearers were O.S. Chaplin, W.T. McDonald, H.E., R.C., W.B., J.C. and F.J. 
Munden and Cecil Brock.
Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery,
