Virginian-Pilot  February 28, 1921
Walter Washington Capps, aged 39 years, died yesterday afternoon at 5:45 o'clock 
at the residence, 926 Virginia street. He was a native of Princess Anne County, 
and had been a resident of Norfolk since childhood. He was a member of Massasoit 
Tribe of Red Men and the Order of Owls. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nora Lee 
Capps, and three children, Walter C. and Misses Sadie M. and Mary J. Capps, all of 
Norfolk; also his mother, Mrs. Mary E. Dixon; a sister, Mrs. W. F. Moore; and an 
aunt, Mrs. H. S. Coles. The funeral will take place tomorrow morning at 10 o’clock 
at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
