The funeral occurs at 11 a.m. tomorrow from the Queen Street Methodist Church. The deceased was a native of Virginia and had resided her for ten years. She leaves a family. Virginian-Pilot, Tues., June 15, 1909, pg. 12 Mrs. Mattie. L Capps, wife of Ernest E. Capps, died yesterday afternoon at 1:15 o’clock at the Norfolk Protestant Hospital, in the 30th year of her age. The funeral occurs at 11 a.m. tomorrow from the Queen Street Methodist Church. The deceased was a native of Princess Anne, Virginia, and had resided here for ten years. She leaves besides her husband and three small children, her mother and father, Mrs. And Mrs. Emmerson Leggett; one brother Emmett Leggett; two sisters, Mrs. Z.T. Bonney and Miss Masie Leggett, all of Princess Anne County. The Norfolk Landmark, Tues., June 15, 1909, pg. 4 The funeral of Mrs. Mattie L. Capps, wife of Mr. Ernest Capps, will be held this morning at 11 o’clock from the Queen Street Methodist Church, the Rev. T.J. Taylor officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood. The deceased passed away in the thirtieth year of her age, at the Norfolk Protestant hospital at 1:15 o’clock Sunday afternoon, after a short illness. Capps, was held from the Queen Street Methodist Church at 11 o’clock a.m. yesterday and was numerously attended. The services were conducted by Rev. T.J. Taylor, pastor of the church. There was a handsome display of floral tributes. The remains were laid to rest in Elmwood Cemetery. Following were the pall bearers; Edward Sawyer, B.F. Goodson, J.E. Harrell, J.O. Williamson, R.M. Forrest and W.W. Williamson.
