He was the husband of Linda Wood Carleo. He was the former owner and operator of Carleo’s Restaurant on Shore Drive and was a Norfolk City fireman for 15 years. He was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church and Roma Lodge 254, Sons of Italy. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Other survivors include three daughters, Carmela Louise Carleo and Vincenta Jane Carleo of Norfolk, and Eva Carleo Jacinto of Virginia Beach; a stepdaughter, Lisa Carolyn Midgett, and a stepson, Allen Midgett, of Virginia Beach; and a sister, Pasqualina Carleo of Norfolk. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Tuesday in St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church by the Revs. Chad Ficorilli and Paschal Morlino. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. A Christian wake service will be said at 7 tonight in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
