CHESAPEAKE - Norma Margaret Carlin, 86, of the 700 block of Oak Grove Road, died 
Oct. 6, 2004.

Mrs. Carlin was born in Springfield, Mass.  She was a Girl Scout leader and was a 
member of the society of Our Lady of the Rosary.

She was a devoted wife of 67 years to her husband, John Joseph Carlin, Sr., and 
loving mother and grandmother to her daughters, Nancy Castaldo, of Myrtle Beach, 
S.C., Diana P. Quigley, of Virginia Beach; her son, Joh J. Carlin, Jr., of Gum 
Spring, Va.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and two great-great-
grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Catholic 
Cemetery in Norfolk.  A Christian wake will be held at 5 p.m. today in the 
Chesapeake Chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts.  Following the wake, the family 
will receive friends until 7 p.m.  Memorial donations may be made to the A.L.S. 
Association, 615 S. Frederick Ave., Suite 308, Gaithersburg, MD. 20877.
