NORFOLK — Philip Stewart Carlisle, 64, of 3001 Tait Terrace, husband of Mrs. Ocie 
K. Carlisle, died Friday in a hospital.

A native and lifelong resident of Norfolk, he was a member of Christ the King 
Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Besides his wife, survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Patricia Rowe of 
Charleston, S.C., Mrs. Mary Mohrmann of San Diego, Mrs. Joan Hornsby of Laurel, 
Md., Mrs. Carolyn Walker of Virginia Beach, and Mrs. Laura Swafford; two sons, 
Philip Stewart Carlisle Jr. and Thomas E. Carlisle; and 23 grandchildren.

A requiem mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in Christ the King Catholic 
Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

A rosary will be held in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. Sunday at 7 p.m.
