B. J. Carlo, 72, of Mount Vernon Ave., a retired longshoreman, died July 9, 1990, 
in a hospital.

Mr. Carlo, a native of Norfolk, was a member of the International Longshoreman's 
Association and St. Pius X Catholic Church. He was a past grand commander of 
Alhambra.

Survivors include his wife, Sophie L. Carlo; a daughter, Mary C. Harrell, and a 
son, John P. Carlo, both of Norfolk; a sister, Jennie C. Sokol of Barco, N.C.; and 
two brothers, Julius R. Carlo of Norfolk and Vince J. Carlo of Portsmouth.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Pius X 
Catholic Church by the Rev. Anthony Rodrigues. Burial will be in St. Mary's 
Cemetery. A wake service will be held at 7 p.m. today in H.D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments, Norfolk.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease & Related Disorders 
Association.
